Need pads? Try our Non-Skid Rug Pads
We have a 30-day no-hassle return policy.
Our durable GOTS Certified organic cotton rugs are hand woven with freshly spun organically grown cotton fiber. We weave these ones to be thick and substantial. (We also offer regular flatweave organic cotton rugs to fit better in home washing machines.) When dirty, these can be machine washed and tumble dried, and will come out looking great. Sizes which won’t fit in home machines can be washed at laundromats and commercial laundries. Please expect shrinkage as estimated in the care instructions – first wash only.
Easy care and enduring beauty. Eco-friendliness at its best.

Not Sure Yet? Try a Swatch.
To recreate the look and feel of our rugs, we weave our Thick Woven Organic Cotton swatches exactly the same as the rugs. The hand-bound edges of the swatch show the same meticulous quality as the rug. Swatches are for one time use and are not returnable.
Try them out barefoot. We think you’ll fall in love.
These Thick Woven Organic Cotton swatches are approximately 8″ x 10″.
Caring for our Organic Cotton Thick Flatweave Rugs
Our Organic Cotton rugs are made from 100% GOTS Certified organic cotton fiber. To keep them in ship shape:
Vacuum regularly. Please do not use a beater bar.
Use as-is until it needs washing. While our rugs wash beautifully, normal shrinkage will occur during the first wash, and your rug pad may need re-trimming. After one wash, we have seen no further shrinkage. Please remove the label from reversible rugs prior to washing. This will prevent the adhesive from bonding to the rug and making that side of the rug unusable.
Washing your Organic Cotton Rug
Machine wash cold. Use any detergent with no bleach. If the rug does not fit comfortably (Our largest sizes will probably not.) in your home machine it can be washed at a laundromat or commercial laundry. Please do not stuff it in too tightly. The water needs to circulate freely.
Tumble dry. Most dryers will stop while the rug is still slightly damp. If this happens, it’s fine to take it out and lay it flat (on a water-resistant floor) until it dries fully.
Clip off any thread or yarn ends that loosen in the wash. This will probably be needed only after the first wash, if at all. If a small knot appears (weavers may tie the yarns, if needed, during weaving), use a dull pointed object to poke the knot back into the rug.
Shrinkage is normal for natural cotton after washing: Please expect about 8% in width and 5% in length. There should never be any further shrinkage after the first wash. If retaining the original size is very important to you, dry cleaning is a better option.
We think you will love your Hook & Loom rug even more after it is clean and fresh. You may even find it a little bit softer!
